Rassemblant une sélection d'une vingtaine
d'auteurs de bande dessinée et de jeunes artistes
dont les travaux évoquent la culture BD qui les
a inspirés, cet ouvrage explore la diversité des
expressions de la BD actuelle et ses porosités avec
le dessin contemporain. La bande dessinée y apparaît sous des formes plurielles et décomplexées :
une bande dessinée plastique, hybride, avec ou sans
texte, qui n'hésite pas à déconstruire la case et à faire
disparaître la planche. Empruntant au collage ou à
la broderie, frayant avec l'absurde et le surréalisme,
se déployant dans des carnets leporello, sur de la
toile ou de la céramique, limitant le récit à quelques
images voire une image unique, la BD vue par The
Drawer repousse les limites du genre. En témoigne
la variété des travaux publiés, caractéristiques des
nouvelles façons de raconter des histoires en dessin
aujourd'hui.

The recent surge in anxiety disorders has brought with it a growing fascination with spiritual themes, as people seek to make sense of society's increasingly rapid and seemingly aimless evolution. Can the world's bestsellers - the holy books, reprinted endlessly for generations - still provide answers to the pressing questions of modernity? The 300-pages thick comics anthology Stripburger's Dirty Thiry presents the history of the one and only Slovenian contemporary comics magazine through its 30 first years and 80 issues. The anthology consists of a colourful range of republished Stripburger comics by around 70 international and Slovenian artists from 1992-2022 and aims to provide the international public with a glimpse of the diverse and exceptional contemporary comics and graphic production of artists gathered around the Stripburger magazine.

We're going through quite chaotic times right now. (And no, we're not talking about the geopolitical ones-for following those you're better off just watching the news.) We're talking about the personal chaos in our own lives! And it turns out we're not alone. Everybody ?l?o?v?e?s? hates chaos. We attempted to put some order into it and of course miserably failed, but in the pages of this issue you can still get an overview of the beauty of chaos... or not.
Billy's family is a perfectly normal one. Dad, Mom, some cousins, a tortoise... and of course the best dog in the world, Buddy! Oh, true, the cocker spaniel is too smart for everyone's good sometimes, and occasionally triggers disasters or raids the fridge. But that's a small price to pay for a loyal companion who'll always be there to cheer you up and give you a good laugh!
Isn't nature utterly beautiful? Sometimes, we feel this urge to get "back to nature"... but mostly we stand with our backs to nature.
